Travel as Therapy

I am filled with gratitude today. This morning my travel buddy and I will board a plane and take off to explore Punta Gorda, Florida. The temperature is in the 70's there and the sunshine will feel nice. What I am most looking forward to are the new sights and sounds of a place I have never been. There is a direct flight from Traverse City, MI to Punta Gorda, which makes the idea of future travel there an easy connection both mentally and physically. Easy is another key word. Travel is fun and exciting and certainly a break from the cold for any Northern Michigan person. It is also a chance to unplug, let down my guard and relax after a very busy and productive weekend of ministering to a group of ladies retreat style. God's word is sharper than any two-edged sword. The experience I had with these women was one of knowing and trusting God even more when experiencing trials of many kinds. They spoke of unexpected life changes, scarry times of needing answers to prayer and lifelong friendships that have lasted. Here's a quote, "I think I am the most fortunate, blessed woman to have so many lovely Godly friends." I am grateful for sharing this experience with my friend. I am grateful to God for allowing me to share from His word all weekend and learn from these ladies how gracefully they have adjusted to many life changes. I have such a grateful heart for the laughs, hugs and prayers that are lingering in my heart, soul, and mind right now. Thank you God for sending me to Florida with such sweet thoughts. Now I will rest and soak in some sunshine and let the next adventure begin!
